01Processes

Three processes, one part number, one shop.

Cut, formed, machined and finished under one roof. Nothing is brokered out to a network of vendors bidding on your drawing.

01

Laser Cutting

6kW fiber and a CO2 source. Flat parts, cut and deburred, in as little as 24 hours.

Tolerance
+/- 0.005 in
Max envelope
48 x 96 in sheet
Standard lead
3 business days
  • Kerf 0.006-0.015 in depending on thickness
  • Nitrogen assist on stainless and aluminum for oxide-free edges
  • CO2 source for acrylic and other plastics, which fiber wavelengths cannot cut
  • Nesting optimizer runs on every order, so you pay for the footprint your part uses rather than a whole sheet

02

Sheet Metal Fabrication

Cut, formed, hardware-inserted and finished as one part number.

Tolerance
+/- 0.010 in, bend angle +/- 1 deg
Max envelope
96 in brake, 0.250 in max form
Standard lead
5 business days
  • CNC press brake with offline programming, so there are no first-article surprises
  • PEM hardware inserted in-house: studs, standoffs and nuts
  • Powder coat, anodize, zinc plate and passivation from a single vendor
Specs and materials
03

CNC Machining

3-, 4- and 5-axis milling and turning for functional prototypes and production.

Tolerance
+/- 0.002 in typical, +/- 0.0005 in on request
Max envelope
32 x 20 x 20 in
Standard lead
7 business days
  • ISO 2768-m by default; call out tighter tolerances on the drawing
  • In-process CMM inspection on every production lot
  • Most metals and every engineering plastic we stock, from bar and plate

02Manufacturability

The design review happens while you configure, not after you order.

Every geometry change re-runs 17 shop rules: minimum hole diameter against thickness, inside bend radius against alloy, hole-to-bend clearance, machine envelope, web width, heat input. Errors block checkout. Warnings tell you what they will cost you.

Live output · 6061-T6 at 0.125 in

3 errors2 warnings

Flange too short to form

Shortest flange is 0.35 in. The brake needs 0.59 in (4x thickness plus the 0.09 in radius) to hold the part.

Lengthen the flange to 0.59 in, or form it long and trim it back as a secondary operation.

Hole below minimum diameter

Smallest hole is 0.1 in. Minimum for Aluminum 6061-T6 at 0.125 in is 0.138 in (1.1x thickness).

Open the hole to 0.138 in, or move it to a secondary drilling operation.

Inside bend radius too tight

Drawing calls for 0.09 in inside radius. Aluminum 6061-T6 needs at least 0.313 in (2.5x thickness).

Open the radius to 0.313 in. Tighter radii crack the outer fiber, especially across the grain.

Narrow web

Narrowest feature is 0.1 in against 0.125 in material.

Acceptable, but thin webs distort. Widening to 0.188 in improves flatness.

03Materials

Engineers search by material as often as by process.

So both are front doors. Every alloy below is on the shelf with published gauges, minimum bend radii and finish compatibility.
